Old fashioned
thrash attack!!! This debut album from the Canadian SACRIFICE is without
any doubt one of the highlights of thrash metal! Rooted in the early tradition
of raw SLAYER, METALLICA, EXODUS, WHIPLASH and POSSESSED this piece of metal
mayhem is a must for all thrashers out there. The lyrics are very primitive
and are nothing but satanic and deathlike brutality, just the way it has
to be with this form of ugly music! Rob Urbinati is screaming his lungs
out but you can also trace the first hints of death growls here (and this
was recorded in 1985!). The songs are mostly fast and furious with some
mid-paced riffs, perfect to bang your head to. Also the solo's from Joe
Rico must be mentioned: rough but a little bit more melodic than grandmaster
King used to play them…so they're really cool! All songs are equally good
but especially >Sacrifice<, >Infernal Visions< and >Necronomicon< are among
all time classics. Their follow up album >Forward to Termination< is as
good as this one, maybe a little bit more complex. The original print on
Diabolic Force must be difficult to find but you might get your hands on
the Roadrunner license for Europe, and that's also great cause it's the
music that counts here. Nothing left to say but to show the devil's sign
and thrash till death! BANG OR BURN, WHOAAAAAAA!!!!! Reviewed by Valdemar |
